Printing Options

The reports produced by Solar Writer use colors on the chart page, as well as in the text of the report if any colors have been selected for text styles.

It is possible to send these colors to the printer as they are seen on the screen, or to ensure that any colors will be printed as black instead of the colors that are used when it is viewed on the screen.

>> To use black only on the printed output of Solar Writer

1.Check the Print all Colors as Black checkbox

This will ensure that all text and chart symbols will be printed in black, and any background colors used in the chart wheels will be omitted.

1.Uncheck the Print all Colors as Black checkbox

This will ensure that all text, chart symbols and background colors will be sent to the printer as they are seen on the screen.

In the normal course of events, it should be possible to leave this option unchecked, in which case any colors will be sent to the printer, and the printer will print them according to its capabilities. Normally this means that if you have a color printer then it will print all the colors correctly, and if you have a monochrome printer, then it will print the colors as grey-scales.

You may need to check this option in the following circumstances:

•If you have a monochrome printer that is unable to print grey-scales correctly when colors are sent to it

•If you have a monochrome printer and you would prefer it to print black only rather than grey-scales

•If you have a color printer and you would prefer it to print in black only

>> To print page headers at the top of each page of a report

1.Check the Include Page Headers checkbox

This will ensure that the top line of each page displays the name of the report and the name of the individual’s chart. This option is useful to ensure that all pages of a report are identifiable, even if they are accidentally disordered.

Note: This header line cannot be seen when viewing the report on the screen – only when it is printed. Page numbers are always printed, and are not affected by this option.
