If you are editing a newly created track file, then you can enter the following items.

Title – A brief title which is displayed as part of the caption of a map when a track or event from this file is being displayed. (eg. Hurricane Tracks - North Atlantic) |

Description – A longer description to help identify the data. (eg. Hurricane tracks from 1851 to present, intensity 4 or higher) |
• |
Type – One of four pre-defined track or event types, as follows. |

User Defined Tracks – Any kind of tracks (sequential series of events) other than hurricane data from UniSys. |
• |
UniSys Hurricanes – Storm data which has pre-defined extra fields, and can be imported from *.dat files which are downloadable from the UniSys website. |
• |
User Defined Events – Any kind of events other than earthquake data from NEIC. |
• |
NEIC Earthquakes – Earthquake data which has pre-defined extra fields, and can be imported from *.txt data files which are downloadable from the NEIC website. |
