The National Earthquake Information Centre (NEIC - http://neic.usgs.gov/) contains extensive earthquake data and has facilities to allow the user to search for earthquake data by region, date, type etc. A search for worldwide data can be found at http://neic.usgs.gov/neis/epic/epic_global.html.

To obtain NEIC data in the required format |

Go to http://neic.usgs.gov/neis/epic/epic_global.html |
2. |
Select Compressed File Format as your output file type |

Choose your preferred search parameters |

Submit your search - This will result in the display of a web page with the required data. |

In your web browser, choose File / Save As, and set the “Save As Type” to “Text File”, and save the results page to a file with a *.txt file extension on your computer. |
The resulting text file can be imported directly into Solar Maps using the Import button in the Track or Event Collection dialog.
